The Gaza Awqaf Authority, in cooperation with the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), celebrated the Khatm Quran (completion of reciting the entire Quran) from memory by 110 female students.
The students were from the Women's Quran Memorization Department (Diwan al-Hafiz), according to Al-Ray.
The event was part of the ‘Taratil al-Tamkeen’ Quranic Day, which was held in line with the series of Quran memorization programs of the Gaza Strip's Awqaf and Religious Affairs Ministry.
Mohammed Salem, director general of the ministry’s General Directorate of Quran and Sunnah, praised the blessed move in which students completed the entire Quran in one session for the first time, describing the scene as “a source of pride and honor for Gaza and its people”.
Salem thanked Diwan al-Hafiz for providing a Quranic environment and conditions in which students' time can be devoted to an activity to serve the Book of God.
Asaad al-Mushtahi, director of the Gaza Awqaf Department, expressed pride in this movement and emphasized that the students' determination to memorize and recite the Quran, which continues despite the war and destruction, sends a message to the whole world that the people of Gaza continue to adhere to the Book of God despite all the hardships.
Quran recitation sessions in Gaza are not new despite the Israeli regime’s genocidal war.
