Egyptian Awqaf Minister Condoles Death of Oldest Qari in Gharbia
In his message, Osama al-Azhari expressed deep sorrow and regret over the death of Sheikh al-Najjar, one of the oldest members of the Quran Recitation Council of the Ministry of Awqafs and one of the oldest reciters of the Ahmadi Mosque, who passed away after a lifetime of service to the Holy Quran.
The message said that the late qari was a loyal member of the ministry, as he worked as the muezzin and reciter of the Quran at the Sayyid Suwaid Mosque in Manil Al-Huwayshat, and left behind a model of sincerity, humility and good character.
He always participated in recitation sessions and Quranic gatherings until the last days of his life, al-Azhari noted.
The Awqaf minister expressed his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, his students and his friends, and asked God Almighty to grant him divine mercy, a spacious place in Paradise, and a good reward for what he did in the service of the Holy Quran, and asked God Almighty to grant his family and relatives patience and forbearance.
Sheikh Saeed al-Najjar, a resident of the village of Manil Al-Huwayshat in the city of Tanta in the Gahrbia Province of Egypt, passed away on August 2 at the age of 97.

He was among the reciters and teachers who witnessed the golden era of Quran recitation in Egypt and was a contemporary and companion of prominent figures in this field, including Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husari and Sheikh Antar Muslim, two of the most famous reciters of the Quran in Egypt.
Sheikh al-Najjar's Quranic career included decades of work and missionary activity, during which he served as a muezzin and also took charge of the Quran recitation at the Sayyid Suwaid Mosque, a duty he adhered to with sincerity and discipline.
The late Al-Najjar was known among his colleagues and friends for his constant enthusiasm for participating in Quran recitation meetings and gatherings and his contribution to establishing the values of correct recitation and glorifying the Book of God, which earned him a special place in the ministry of Awqaf and among those present in mosques.
His life witnessed many occasions that demonstrated his commitment to his religious mission, as he remained with students of knowledge and lovers of the Quran until the last days of his life.
