Abdul Basit

Sheikh Abdul Basit Abdul Samad was a legendary Egyptian Qari, renowned for his powerful and melodious recitation of the Quran. Born in 1927 in the village of Al-Maza’iza, Egypt, he memorized the entire Quran by the age of ten and mastered seven styles of Quran recitation by twelve. Abdul Basit gained widespread acclaim after his first public recitation in Cairo in 1951, where his performance captivated the audience. He traveled extensively, reciting the Quran in numerous countries and inspiring many to embrace Islam. Abdul Basit passed away in 1988.
