Egyptian Radio to Broadcast Sheikh Abdul Basit's Tarteel Recitation for First Time

IQNA – For the first time, the tarteel recitation of the Quran in the Warsh from Nafi' narration by the renowned Egyptian Qari, Sheikh Abdul Basit Abdul Samad, will be broadcast on Egypt's Quran Radio starting January 2025.

According to the news website Cairo 24, Egypt's Quran Radio announced on its Facebook page that the broadcast will feature Sheikh Abdul Basit's recitation in the Warsh from Nafi' narration.

Sheikh Abdul Basit Abdul Samad (1927-1988) was one of Egypt's most prominent Quran reciters, known for his exceptional ability to recite the Quran with a melodious voice.

He was often referred to as the "Voice of Mecca." In 1984, he was elected as the first president of the Egyptian Reciters' Union. Throughout his career, he traveled internationally, both during Ramadan and at other times, to participate in Quranic gatherings and respond to invitations.
