Islam is the third-largest religion in the country, following Christianity and Judaism.The Muslim community in the US is highly diverse, with significant numbers of immigrants from various countries as well as native-born Americans. The first Muslims in America were enslaved Africans brought over during the transatlantic slave trade.Muslims are not evenly distributed across the country. Some states and metropolitan areas, like New Jersey and Washington, D.C., have higher concentrations of Muslims. The Muslim population in the US is growing rapidly.
