South Khorasan to Host Nat’l Quran Contest of Universities

The 27th edition of National Quran Contest among the Iranian state universities of district 3 is planned to be held in late April in South Khorasan Province, rector of Birjand University said.
Speaking at the coordinating meeting of the contest that was held on April 3, Mohammad Reza Miri added that the contest would be attended by 320 participants from 21 universities and institutes of higher education.
“It is planned to be held on April 22, 23 and 24 in two written and oral sections.”
He further noted that “the presence of top Quran reciters and a jury committee, proper facilities and accommodation, advertising and filming the competitions as well as awarding the winners will be among the administrative procedures of the contest.”
Mr. Miri also referred to four national seminars that are also planned to be held in the province, adding: “The cultural and sport olympiad of female students of all the universities across the country is expected to be held this year with the participation of 3000 contestants.”
Also speaking at the meeting was Mohammad Reza Ashrafi, head of Dar-ol-Quran Center in Islamic Development Organization, who highlighted the significance of Quran contests, calling for an attractive Quranic atmosphere to be provided for the participants.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mahdi Abdul-Razzaqnejad, academic board member of Birjand Medical Sciences University, was another speaker who stressed the organization of appropriate and effective Quranic programs to attract the youth to Quranic activities and honor the influential activists in the field.
“Using proper planning and the expertise of experienced Quranic figures can help create a dynamic and Quranic society,” he went on to say.
