Izzat Rishq, member of the Political Bureau of Hamas movement, has strongly condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran and the brutal attack on Palestinian female students by an Israeli officer, inside Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Rishq stressed in a press statement on Sunday that this Israeli attack represents a crime and reflects the moral decay as well as the racism and extremism of the occupation officers.
Al-Aqsa Foundation for Endowment and Heritage said in a statement on Sunday that one of the Israeli officers attacked two students from a girls' school near Buraq Mosque next to the Mughrabi Gate and tried to chase them away to prevent them from reciting the Quran.
When the girls refused to listen to the officer, he kicked and stepped on a copy of the Holy Quran.
Al-Aqsa Foundation condemned the "heinous crime" against the students, and held the Israeli occupation forces responsible for the repercussion of this act. It also called for prompt action to defend the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
