Alma is an ethnic Albanian Muslim living the southernmost town and municipality of Serbia.
There is only one other Muslim, a man, in the town, who is a memorizer of the whole Quran.
She says it was very difficult for her to make the achievement because she was not even familiar with the Arabic alphabet.
A Quran master in the town helped her first learn to read the Quran and then memorize its verses, she says.
Alma underlines that memorizing the Quran has positively affected her life in different aspects including by improving her performance in school.
"I think there is no joy better than reciting the Quran,” she says.

The majority of Muslims in the southeast European country live in the municipalities of Novi Pazar, Tutin and Sjenica in the Sandzak region, and in the towns of Presevo and Bujanovac in the Presevo Valley.
