Hezbollah Raps Trump’s 'Stupid Move' against Syria
Issuing a statement on Friday, Hezbollah described the move as signifying the United States’ continued aggression against the Muslim Ummah aimed at serving the Zionist regime of Israel, according to al-Alam news network.
"The Trump administration’s stupid measure is the beginning of major and dangerous tension in the region and will further complicate the situation in the world,” it added.
Hezbollah underlined, however, that such aggressive moves will have no effect on the morale of the Syrian army that has managed to gain numerous victories against US-backed terrorists in the Arab country.
Neither will they affect the Resistance movement’s partnership with the Syrian government and people in their war on terrorism, the statement went on to say.
On US President Donald Trump’s order, US warships in the Mediterranean launched dozens of Tomahawk cruise missiles at the Shayrat military facility in Homs, Syria, on Friday morning in response to an alleged chemical weapons attack in the town of Khan Shaykhoun in Idlib province earlier this week.
Damascus has categorically denied carrying out a chemical attack.
Washington and its allies were quick to accuse Damascus of conducting the attack. The Syrian army said, however, that "it has never used them (chemical weapons), anytime, anywhere, and will not do so in the future.”
