TEHRAN (IQNA) – Mohammad Swwaf, the founder of Manzil startup, says lack of knowledge on Islamic laws is a barrier against Islamic startups in Canada.

Islamic financing and its sub-branches such as Islamic banking are among the areas that have been considered by many small and large investors in different countries in recent years.

As one of the countries that has made good use of the benefits of racial and religious diversity, Canada has in recent years become one of the countries where Islamic financing is gradually taking root in the economic system.

One of the most important startups in Canada that works in the field of Islamic fintech is called Manzil.

Manzil was founded in 2017 in Toronto and seeks to attract non-Muslim clients who are interested in investing on social ethics in addition to Muslim clients. 

In this regard, we had a conversation with Mohamad Sawwaf, CEO and founder of the startup and discussed the hopes and challenges of Islamic startups in Canada.
