Top Filipino Memorizers Lauded by NCMF

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Top Quran memorizers were lauded in a ceremony in Mindanao and received copies of the Holy Quran.

 

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos hold a ceremony in Sulu province to commemorate 13 top memorizers who have passed the courses and committed the entire Quran to the memory.

The ceremony was staged at Ittihad Quran memorization institute.

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos presented dozens of copies of the Quran to participants.

Sulu is a province of the Philippines in the Sulu Archipelago and part of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

The Philippines is an archipelagic country in Southeast Asia. Situated in the western Pacific Ocean, it consists of about 7,641 islands that are broadly categorized under three main geographical divisions from north to south.

According to national religious surveys, there are about 5.1 million Muslims in the Philippines, composing 6% of its population.

More than half of the country’s Muslims live on the large southern island of Mindanao.
