Speaking at a ceremony held Tuesday to honor managers of the 29th edition of the expo, Esmaeili said the secretariat will be launched in the near future.

He hailed the warm reception of the expo’s 29th edition by the people and said it had some 1.2 million visitors.

“The reception was beyond our expectations,” the Culture Minister added.

He stressed that the experience of successful organization of the expo should continue in the upcoming editions.

Esmaeili noted, though, that there may have been some shortcomings in holding the event, which will be addressed in the next editions.

Elsewhere in the ceremony, a number of the exhibition’s officials presented reports on the organization of the Quranic event.

The 29th edition of the Tehran International Quran Exhibition was held in April.

Annually organized by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the holy month of Ramadan, the exhibition is aimed at promoting Quranic concepts and developing Quranic activities.

It showcases the latest Quranic achievements in the country as well as a variety of products dedicated to the promotion of the Holy Book.

In 2020 the expo was called off and in 2021 it was held virtually due to the coronavirus restrictions in the country.
