The Quranic Sciences Center affiliated to the Iraqi Shias’ Awqaf Department organizes the competition annually.
The final stage is scheduled to be held at the mosque from June 16 to 18.
Those who had the best performances in the provincial stages as well as representatives from the custodianships of holy shrine and the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) will take part in this stage.
The motto of this year’s contest is “Representing Iraq, A Glory for All”.
Top winners will be introduced to related Iraqi bodies to be sent to international Quran competitions as the country’s representatives.
Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.
There has been a growing trend of Quranic programs such as competitions, recitation sessions and educational programs held in the country in recent years.
