After days of fasting, what we ask from God should be beyond worldly issues. One of the requests can be to be on the right front.
In the supplication dedicated to day 25 of the blessed month of Ramadan, we read: “O Allah, on this day, make me among those who love Your friends, and hate Your enemies, following the way of Your last Prophet, O the Guardian of the hearts of the Prophets.”
Friendship with friends of God and enmity with enemies of God
Establishing a friendship with God’s friends and standing against God’s enemies are among the principles of Islam and Shiism. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) highlighted the importance of love and hatred for the sake of God, sympathy for God's friends, and disassociation from God’s enemies.
Friendship and enmity of people may be due to various reasons. If a friendship is based on divine reward in the next world, then it is for the sake of God. On the other hand, enmities that are based on personal reasons cannot be considered for the sake of God.
Ahl al-Bayt (SA) are among the best friends of God and on this day, we ask Him to help us on this path.
