End of Time Threat of AI
AI is a branch of computer sciences that develops programs to benefit from AI in doing tasks that we expect from human intelligence. Simpler forms of it existed in our life since years ago, such as machine translation.
Artificial intelligence has been designed to find new solutions to problems. It has the ability to imitate humans.
In all types of AI, there are three processes: learning, arguing and comprehending.
Something happened in recent month that shocked everyone and that was the genie of the lamp coming out of the lamp. It began with ChatGPT and we all found out that what AI basically does is different from what we have in mind.
What we are seeing from AI now and what has been made available is the tip of the iceberg compared to what they have achieved in AI studies. There are both technical and sociological proofs for that.
Interestingly, AI is not just fed by humanities but also has amazing capacity to influence humanities. We are not talking about a distant future. We are talking about now. The advancement and learning of the machine will create changes in industry and technology models that would lead to revolutionary transformation of humanities.
There are two viewpoints about AI:
1- Operational, which says AI does this in the field of military and does that in the field of economy, etc.
2- End of time point of view.
We have three stages: Intelligence, awareness and self-awareness. Intelligence means using the power of speaking.
A level above that is awareness, which means comparing different proportions. Our behavior is mostly based on awareness.
The level higher than that is self-awareness. Here, one not only sees several proportions but also their relation with himself and others. It is only humans that have this self-awareness.
Computers first conquered the stage of intelligence. But has taken us by surprise is that it seems that the initial stages of awareness have been formed in AI. That is, it does not realize what it is, but it answers with awareness.
Now what makes artificial intelligence seem dangerous? It seems that AI is moving toward self-awareness.
One may ask so what? What will happen if AI moves toward self-awareness? The problem is the speed of evolution of AI. It is the speed that has taken us by surprise. It may put us behind. We can ask whether we are making something that will dominate us like we dominated nature.
We made use of the world, tamed animals, made cars, made software, etc, with our mind. Now the trend is moving toward a direction that computer will make humans. So the problem lies in the speed of evolution of AI.
