Given the rapid advancements in AI, it has the potential to address “complex or costly” issues in Islamic sciences, Mohammadreza Ghasemi, head of Iranian seminaries’ specialized committee for smart technologies, said on Saturday.
“By saving time and improving accuracy, AI can contribute to the advancement of these sciences,” he added.
He made the remarks in a preparation meeting for the 1st International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Culture, and Islamic Sciences, which is set to be held in the coming months.
“Moreover, the use of AI by researchers can open up new avenues for scientific exploration,” he said.
There are two perspectives on AI: threat perception and instrumentalism, he said, noting that the best approach is to utilize AI’s capabilities while considering all potential threats.
