Talal al-Atrisi, who is a professor of sociology, made the remark in an interview with IQNA, in which he discussed the Zionist regime’s attempts to restore its shattered image following the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation launched by the Hamas resistance movement on October 7.
He said the Israeli massacre of civilians in the Gaza Strip, which even includes the bombing of hospitals that are filled with those injured in the attacks or taking refuge, is an indication of the regime’s desperation.
The occupation regime seeks to takes revenge from Hamas and restore its fake image of invincibility that was dealt a huge blow in the October 7 operation, he stated.
Today, the deterrence capability of the Israeli army has been destroyed and its projected image of being undefeatable was shattered, he said.
While the Zionists keep saying that a ground invasion is imminent, they haven’t shown any inclination to launch such an attack, he noted.
Atrisi added that one of the aims of the barbaric bombardment of Gaza is to undermine the popularity of Hamas.
He said the enemy is also after forcing the Palestinians living in Gaza to leave the enclave and settle in other places such as the Sinai in Egypt.
The forces displacement of the people of Gaza is a scenario that the Zionists’ political and military officials pursue through relentless airstrikes, the analyst said.
The people of Palestine and the resistance axis, however, will not allow another Zionist Nakba happen in Gaza, he stressed.
The Nakba, also known as the Palestinian Catastrophe, was the 1948 displacement of a majority of the Palestinians by the Zionist regime.

Atrisi said Palestinians are more vigilant and heedful of the events today and will not accept a new Nakba, especially given the fact that their resistance is an armed and vigilant one.
He went on to say that the people of Palestine, whether those in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank or elsewhere, have high motivation to confront the occupation regime.
Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel on October 7. The attack, named Al-Aqsa Flood Operation, involved a ground and air assault on the Israeli settlements near the Gaza Strip, as well as a massive rocket barrage on the cities of Tel Aviv, Ashkelon, and others. The attack dealt a huge blow to the Israeli regime and the government of Benjamin Netanyahu.
The operation shocked the security and military apparatus of the regime, which failed to anticipate or prevent it.
Palestinian resistance fighters announced that the operation was a response to years of oppression, occupation, and desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli regime and its illegal settlers.
Shocked by the Palestinian operation, the Israeli regime has launched a campaign of murder and destruction in the Gaza Strip, killing over 8,000 innocent people and destroying homes, schools, hospitals and infrastructures in the area.
