TEHRAN (IQNA) – Representatives from Iran won most of the ranks of an online Quran competition organized by Iraq.

Iranian Representatives Scoop Awards at Online Iraqi Quran Contest

 

The competition was titled “walshafe walwatr” (by the Even and the Odd) which refers to verse 3 of Surah Al-Fajr.

Exclusively for females, the event was organized online by fans of prominent Iraqi Qari Sayyid Hassanayn Al-Halw in three categories. The contest wrapped up on Wednesday night.

In the memorization of the entire Quran category, which saw 83 memorizers competing, Hananeh Khalafi from Iran won first place. Iraq’s Sareh Rahim Jabbar and Iran’s Fatemeh Sadat Ghaffari stood next.

A total of 68 participants took part in the tarteel recitation category. Ozra Sabrinejad from Iran claimed the title while Ahlam Naema Sharif and Fatima Khalid Kazem, both from Iraq, won the next two ranks.

The recitation category witnessed the participation of 43 contestants. Atefeh Naseh, Zahra Hosseinpur, and Ameneh Al-Bukhafnar, all from Iran, claimed the top three ranks.

The panel of judges was comprised of experts from Iran, Lebanon, and Iraq.
