In a statement issued by the Media Office in Gaza on Monday, it was revealed that the occupation regime’s ongoing attack on the Gaza Strip has resulted in significant damage to the besieged Palestinian territory.
According to the spokesperson for the Gaza media office, Salama Marouf, the damage assessment includes the destruction and damage of various structures, including places of worship, medical facilities, residential units, and educational institutions.
Specifically, the statement noted that a total of 192 mosques have been impacted by the Israeli aggression, with 56 of them completely destroyed. In addition to the mosques, three churches have also been targeted.
The Israeli relentless bombing of the Gaza Strip since October 7 has claimed the lives of more than 10,000 people, mostly women and children. The attacks have displaced 1.5 million people, pushing the situation in the besieged Palestinian territory to a humanitarian crisis.
The Israeli attacks began after Hamas-led Palestinian resistance launched an unprecedented surprise operation against occupied territories on October 7, killing more than 1,400 Israeli settlers and soldiers and taking some 200 others captive.

The Israeli assault, according to Marouf, has taken a toll on the region's healthcare infrastructure, with 192 medical and healthcare facilities suffering damage. Furthermore, 32 ambulances have been destroyed, while 113 healthcare institutions have sustained significant damage. Sixteen hospitals and 32 health centers are no longer operational as a result of the aggression.
Residential areas have also been heavily affected, with approximately 222,000 residential units experiencing damage. Of these, 10,000 buildings have been completely demolished, and 40,000 residential units have been destroyed.
Education has been disrupted, as 222 schools have been destroyed, with various degrees of damage caused by continuous shelling. Sixty schools are no longer operational due to the ongoing conflict.
In addition to the aforementioned destruction, the Israeli attacks have destroyed 88 government buildings.
The ongoing situation in the Gaza Strip continues to be a cause for concern, with a significant impact on the lives and livelihoods of the local population. The extent of the damage raises further questions about the broader consequences of the conflict and the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region.
