11 Iranian Pilgrims Die during Hajj: Official

IQNA – The head of the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran put the number of Iranian pilgrims who have died during Hajj so far at 11.

Pir Hossein Kulivand added that there are also 26 Iranians hospitalized in Saudi Arabia, the public relation office of the Red Crescent Society reported.

He noted though that general speaking, the health conditions of the Iranian pilgrims in Hajj are good.  

The society’s medical teams have so far provided health and medical services to more than 11,000 pilgrims, the official stated.

Kulivand added the society has had good coordination with the Saudi Hajj ministry and red crescent society for ensuring medical services to pilgrims.

He described the Saudi side’ cooperation with the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran during Hajj as good.

A total of 87,500 Iranian pilgrims have travelled to Saudi Arabia for Hajj this year.  

Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.
