The 22nd edition of the Russian international Quran contest is slated to be held in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, from July 23 to 27, he told IQNA.
He said the competition is held every year in the categories of memorization and recitation alternately.
This year, it will be organized in the category of recitation of the Holy Quran, he stated.
Noting that qaris from different Muslim countries like Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Syria and Saudi Arabia will be participating in the contest, Hosseininejad hoped he would be a good representative for the country in the Quranic event.
He also hailed the presence of Iranian Quran expert Gholam Reza Shahmiveh in the competition’s panel of judges.
Hosseininejad, who is from Khorasan Razavi Province, has been selected as the country’s representative by the Committee for Inviting and Dispatching Qaris.
