IQNA – Former Hezbollah secretary general Sayed Hassan Nasrallah taught the world’s nations that resistance is the only way to achieve justice and sustainable rights, Iran’s foreign minister said.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi

Martyr Nasrallah is a character who serves as a symbol of standing against aggression for all freedom-seeking nations, Seyed Abbas Araghchi said while addressing an international conference on “Nasrallah's School of Thought”, which was launched in Tehran on Saturday morning, marking the 40th day after the martyrdom of the former Hezbollah secretary general.

With his unique bravery, Nasrallah offered a new definition of resistance, he stated.

He described Nasrallah as a pioneering leader who changed regional equations fundamentally and managed to turn resistance into an influential factor.

The Iranian top diplomat added that the former Hezbollah leader taught people how to resistance and be influential without relying on a major power.

He further said Nasrallah believed that Muslims’ solidarity and unity and regional cooperation could protect the resistance.

He also was aware of the importance of soft power and the power of the media and played a unique role in exposing plots and raising the public awareness, Araghchi went on to say.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon and said ensuring a ceasefire and providing aid to the people of Lebanon should be a priority for the world community.

In addition to Araghchi, a number of other senior Iranian officials, including Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Culture Minister Seyed Abbas Salehi, director of Islamic Seminaries Ayatollah Ali Reza Aarafi and Ayatollah Mohsen Qomi, the international deputy of the Office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and scholars, thinkers and political figures from 13 countries are taking part in the School of Nasrallah international conference.

It is aimed at introducing different aspects of Nasrallah’s character and thoughts and the roles he played in confronting the Zionist regime and the world arrogance.

Sayed Hassan Nasrallah was martyred in a massive airstrike that Israel launched on southern Beirut on September 27 using American-supplied bunker-buster bombs.

Israel’s attacks come against the backdrop of escalated tensions between the Lebanese resistance movement and the occupying entity, which included the targeted killing of top Hezbollah commanders and the detonation of telecommunication devices belonging to the Muslim resistance group.

Israel has been targeting Lebanon since October 7 last year, when it launched a genocidal war on the besieged Gaza Strip.

Hezbollah has been responding to the aggression with numerous retaliatory operations, including one with a hypersonic ballistic missile, targeting the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Lebanese resistance movement has vowed to keep up its operations against Israel as long as the Israeli regime continues its Gaza war.
