Gaza Will Never Be Defeated: Najaf Seminary Scholar

IQNA – A senior Iraqi cleric called the Israeli claim of victory in Gaza “a hoax” and stressed that Gaza has never been defeated and will not be defeated in the future.

Speaking to Jirah TV channel, Ayatollah Hassan Jawahiri, a Najaf Islamic Seminary instructor, added that the joy in the Gaza Strip and the grief among the Zionists show who the real winner is.

He warned that calls to surrender to the enemy are contrary to the path of Imam Hussein (AS).

He also underlined that Islamic seminaries stand with the oppressed in Gaza, Lebanon and other lands.

Ayatollah Jawahiri deplored the betrayal of some Arab states that led to the martyrdom of a number of resistance commanders in Lebanon and Gaza, but underscored that the resistance remains strong and that is why Gaza was able to impose its terms on the enemy in negotiations.

The cleric further stressed the need for the unity of the Islamic Ummah against colonial designs and called on Muslims to turn to the teachings of Islam and follow the religious leadership.

He warned that betrayal and slackness against the enemy are not permissible.

Ayatollah Jawahiri went on to say that supporting the vulnerable is a religious duty and described the silence of some governments against the crimes of the Israeli regime as a betrayal of Islamic ideals.

He concluded his remarks by reiterating that Jihad and resistance continue, and pointing to the historical role of the clerics, and urging the Islamic Ummah to be vigilant against the intellectual and cultural assault of the West against Islamic values.
