Khatm Quran means reading the holy Quran from the beginning to the end.
In Ramadan, Muslims usually read one Juz (part) of the Quran every day so that by the end of the month they have completed reading the entire Holy Book.
The Ramadan Khatm Quran ceremony at the holy shrine of Hazrat Abbas is held with the support of the Holy Quran Institute, affiliated with the Holy Quran Scientific Assembly of the Astan.
Mushtaq al-Ali, president of the Holy Quran Scientific Assembly, said earlier that all necessary preparations have been completed for the Khatm Quran ceremony.
The aim of this program is for the esteemed pilgrims to benefit from these enlightening and spiritual gatherings during the holy month, he stated.
Sheikh Jawad al-Nasrawi, director of the Holy Quran Institute, said various qaris will recite the Quran in the ceremony every day.
