
The Dar-ol-Quran branch affiliated with the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine organized the Quranic event in cooperation with the Iraqi Quranic Union.
According to the website of the Astan, this program was held in line with the 11th National Quran Recitation Project and with the participation of a group of reciters from Iraqi universities, with the aim of strengthening Quranic culture among young people.
Alaa Mohsen, head of the Dar-ol-Quran branch, said the Khatm Quran sessions are held in line with the national Quran recitation project in some Iraqi provinces.
He added that a number of Khatm Quran sessions were also held in Baghdad during the holy month of Ramadan with the presence of domestic and international reciters, and that the programs include interpreting Quranic verses, organizing Quran competitions, and distributing incentive prizes among participants.
Muhammad al-Sarai, head of the Iraqi Quranic Association, also said in this regard that the number of Khatm Quran sessions has reached seven, and these sessions that have been held in areas of Al-Karkh and Al-Rusafa with the participation of qaris who are famous for their fragrant recitations.

He added that within the framework of this program, Quran competitions are being held in Iraqi universities with the aim of identifying young and emerging Quranic talents and supporting them.
It is worth noting that the national Khatm Quran project has been implemented in 15 Iraqi provinces and has included 60 Khatm Qurans.
