Astan of Imam Ali Shrine Distributes 2,500 Food Packages among Needy

IQNA – With the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine in Najaf, Iraq, distributed more than 2,500 food packages to support needy families

The Committee for Helping the Poor and Needy affiliated with the Astan launched its annual campaign to prepare and distribute food packages to support poor and low-income families in the holy city of Najaf at the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

Ahmad Najm, head of the committee, said that as part of this regular field project, more than 2,500 food packages were distributed among needy families.

According to him, this project covers target neighborhoods to ensure that aid reaches the real needy directly.

He said the campaign will continue for 10 days, and field teams will be present in underprivileged neighborhoods and deliver food baskets directly to families.

This initiative is part of the ongoing humanitarian activities that the Astan has carried out regularly in recent years.

It is in line with the mission of the Astan to strengthen social solidarity and support needy families, especially during Ramadan, and inspired by the teachings of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
