The Holy Quran states three conditions in the field of fighting the enemy: “Fight in the way of Allah those who fight against you, but do not aggress. Allah does not love the aggressors.” (Verse 190 of Surah Al-Baqarah). First, the war must be for Allah and in His way. Second, it must be against the aggressor and until the war is imposed, do not take up arms. Third, do not transgress on the battlefield and adhere to moral principles.
Therefore, defending Islamic Iran in the war imposed on the country by the Zionist regime and the United States is a legitimate and Quranic action.
In the next verses, the Quran explains how to respond: “If any one transgresses against you, you also may retaliate against them to an equal extent.” (Verse 194 of Surah Al-Baqarah).
Islam gives everyone the right to respond in kind if he is transgressed. For example, if an enemy invades the territory of a Muslim country from another country, there is a right to respond in kind against the interests of the aggressor.
For isntance, if Iran’s oil and gas refineries are bombed, Iran can legitimately target their interests and investments in the countries providing the bases as a punitive and deterrent.

Aggression is reprehensible when it is primary and not in response to the aggression of others. If a society that is not under the burden of oppression, enslavement, and humiliation responds to the aggression of others, this act will be considered a great virtue, because submission to the aggressor is equal to death and resistance is equal to life.
