Hajj Pilgrims Leave Tehran Int’l Airport for Medina

IQNA – The first official flight of Iranian Hajj 2026 pilgrims, including 260 pilgrims, left the Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran for Medina in Saudi Arabia.

The first official flight of Iranian Hajj 2026 pilgrims, including 260 pilgrims, left the Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran for Medina in Saudi Arabia on April 27, 2026.

 

According to the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization’s Information Center; the farewell ceremony for the pilgrims was held at the airport on Monday morning.

Alireza Rashidian, head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization and a number of other officials were present at the ceremony.

It was the first group of Hajj pilgrims from Iran leaving the country for Medina.

Based on the flight schedules, other pilgrims will gradually depart for the land of revelation in the following days.

On Saturday, the first group of administrative and cultural Hajj officials departed for Medina to make preparations for the presence of Iranian pilgrims.

Rashidian said in an address to the departing pilgrims at the Monday ceremony, “We have been prepared for all dispatch scenarios, and thank God, with the opening of air borders and with the assistance of relevant stakeholders in the Civil Aviation Organization and Iran Air, the first caravans of pilgrims departed for the land of revelation.”

Stating that all administrative arrangements have been made for Iranian pilgrims, he added, “We hope that our country’s pilgrims will have a journey with dignity, honor, and security, and that their behavior, as always, will be a model of order, discipline, and Iranian culture.”

According to plans, the flights for the return of Iranian Hajj pilgrims will begin on  June 1.
