Ayatollah Sistani Hails Unveiling of Najaf Mus’haf

IQNA – Iraq’s top Shia cleric Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani hailed the unveiling of the first edition of the Mus’haf of Najaf by the Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine of Hazrat Abbas (AS).

“I have been honored to examine the Mus’haf of Najaf Ashraf, the blessed copy of the Holy Quran; the great book of God which He revealed to His Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a light, guidance and enlightenment for the people and which He protected from distortion, addition and deficiency so that it will remain a complete proof and a lamp of guidance until the Day of Judgment,” the senior cleric wrote in a message.

“As the Commander of the Faithful, Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS) said about this book: ‘Know that this Quran is a benevolence that never betrays (deceives), a guidance that never misleads, a speech that never lies; because every person who gets acquainted with the Quran, it increases his guidance and decreases his blindness.’ I ask God Almighty to grant us all the success in reciting it, pondering its verses, learning from its sermons and acting on its commands, for He alone is the owner of success.”

The first edition of the Mus’haf of Najaf was unveiled on Wednesday, April 29, in a ceremony organized by the Atsan of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine.

It has been printed at Al-Kafeel Printing and Publication Center, which is affiliated to the Astan.
