Al-Azhar Chief Lauds Spain’s Stance in Defense of Gaza

IQNA – Al-Azhar chief Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb praised Spain’s courageous stances towards just ideals, especially Madrid’s stance against the Israeli regime’s aggression on Gaza.

In a meeting with Sergio Carranza, the Spanish envoy to Egypt, al-Tayeb also appreciated Spain’s clear condemnation of the crimes and massacres committed in Palestine amidst global silence, Sawt Al-Umma reported.

“We praise the courageous stances of your country. Spain has provided a model of fairness and justice expected from developed countries. We call on all countries to emulate these positions and show their courage in supporting oppressed people,” he added.

During the meeting, the Spanish envoy also praised the positions of the Sheikh of Al-Azhar in promoting world peace, strengthening the values ​​of brotherhood, and supporting the oppressed in the world.

He noted that Spain’s policy is based on respect for human rights and commitment to international law.

He emphasized that Al-Azhar is one of the most important global institutions in establishing justice and tolerance worldwide.
