The Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine organized the gathering in preparation for propagation activities in the months of Muharram and Safar. 

The Religious Propagation Department affiliated with the Astan held the conference entitled “Muharram, Description of Eternity”.

Sheikh Karim Al-Jaafari, head of the department, said the conference includes several sections and programs, the most prominent of which is the explanation and clarification of the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority in Najaf, represented by Grand Ayatollah Seyed Ali al-Sistani, given the great importance of these directives in maintaining the security and stability of the country.

He added that the number of participants in this conference is more than a thousand Muballighs who will be deployed throughout Iraq, from Basra to the Kurdistan Region, during the months of Muharram and Safar.

In addition, a number of preachers and orators will participate in propagation missions outside Iraq, including in Pakistan, several African countries, and Iran, he stated.

Jafari said the Husseini pulpit is a platform for reform and guidance and should play a role in addressing social issues, promoting values ​​of coexistence, and rejecting extremism and sectarianism.

Muharram, which will begin on June 16 this year, is the first month in the lunar Hijri calendar.
