The annual replacement ceremony marked the beginning of the new Islamic year 1448 and reflected ongoing efforts to maintain and preserve the sacred site and its religious heritage.

The installation of the new Kiswa took place at the Grand Mosque, where specialized teams carried out the replacement process according to established procedures.

The event forms part of an annual tradition overseen by authorities responsible for the care and maintenance of the Holy Kaaba.

The new Kiswa was produced over a period of 11 months by a team of 150 craftsmen, technicians, and specialists. The covering consisted of 47 pieces of black silk embroidered with 30 Quranic verses using silver thread plated with 24-karat gold. The completed Kiswa weighed approximately 1,410 kilograms.
