Former Longest-Serving Palestinian Prisoner Passed Away at 68

IQNA – Former Palestinian detainee Maher Younis, one of the longest-serving Palestinians imprisoned by Israel, passed away early Sunday at the age of 68.

Younis was a prominent figure in the Palestinian prisoners' movement and spent approximately 40 years in Israeli prisons, making him one of the longest-serving Palestinian detainees.

Funeral prayers are scheduled to be held after the noon prayer in his hometown of Ar'ara in the 1948-occupied Palestinian territories.
