Ceremony Held to Honor Quran memorizers in Mauritania
The ‘Imam Warsh’ Institute of Holy Quran and Religious Sciences organized the event.
In addition to honoring Quran memorizers, the ceremony showed the continuation of the deep-rooted tradition of Quran education and the special place of the Holy Quran in the culture and identity of the Mauritanian society.
This success was the result of a training program that the management of the institution started with a trip to the city of Amboud in the south of Mauritania. In this plan, a number of teenagers and young people were invited to the central building of the institute in Nouakchott to participate in courses on memorization of the Quran and religious sciences, and after completing the training, they returned to their hometown to spread the teachings of the Quran among the people of the region.
Slack Heideh, the director general of the institute, said at the ceremony that this group is the primary fruit and core of the plan that was formed during the institute's trip to Amboud.
He added that the memorizers who are honored have become stars and lights that convey the message of the Quran and Islamic knowledge.
Heideh asked the memorizers not to limit their scientific path to memorizing the Quran, but by continuing their studies in Islamic sciences, in the future, they will become teachers and professors who will serve their society and the areas where they live.
