End to 11-Year Blockade of Yemen A Rightful Demand: IRGC Quds Force Chief
“Lifting the 11-year siege of Yemen is a just and humane demand for the oppressed people of this country,” Brigadier General Esmaeil Qa’ani wrote in a message
“The Saudi government is expected to learn from the experience of the United States’ unwise and costly behavior and end the siege of a Muslim country with a population of more than 38 million people,” he added.
“The expectation of the Muslims of the world from Saudi Arabia, which considers itself the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is that instead of continuing the war and pressure against an oppressed Muslim nation, it should use its power and resources to support the Palestinian people and confront the crimes of the Zionist regime,” General Qa’ani stated.
He went on to say that “trying to save the oppressed Gaza is a matter of honor, not continuing the siege of the oppressed Yemeni nation.”
On July 13, Saudi forces struck Sana’a International Airport, violating a four-year-long ceasefire, and prompting Yemen’s armed forces to resume retaliatory operations.
In the following days, the Yemeni armed forces targeted strategic sites in Saudi Arabia, including Abha International Airport, with Ansarullah movement saying the operations were a direct response to continued military aggression.

On Monday, Ansarullah announced the start of what it described as a “siege for siege” policy, declaring a naval blockade against Saudi maritime traffic through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.
The movement said the measure was intended to match the restrictions and military pressure imposed on Yemen, stressing that its operations would continue until attacks on the country came to an end.
