Quran Competition’s Research Category Helps Promote Understanding of Quranic Concepts

TEHRAN (IQNA) - An Indonesian Quran memorizer hailed the inclusion of a Quranic research category in the international Quran competition for Muslim students.

Abdurrashid Sidiq, who will represent his country in the 5th edition of the international event, told IQNA that the research category will encourage contemplating and learning the Quranic concepts.
He further described the competition as a venue for promoting cultural and scientific bonds among Muslim students.
It also helps to foster the Quranic teachings and Islamic culture, the Quran memorizer went on to say.
The fifth edition of the International Holy Quran Competition for Muslims Students is scheduled to be held in January 2015 in Tehran by the Iranian Academics' Quranic Activities Organization.
The Iranian cities of Isfahan, Tehran, Mashhad and Tabriz hosted the previous four editions of the international competition, which is aimed at enhancing Islamic unity, paving the way for promotion of Quranic teachings and culture and providing a venue for interactions among Muslim world students.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Sidiq, who studies Islamic Sharia at Jakarta Quranic Sciences University, referred to his Quranic activities, saying that he started learning the Holy Book by heart at the age of 6.
He added that has taken part in several Quran competitions in Indonesia and other countries and won a number of awards.
