TEHRAN (IQNA) – An international conference on interdisciplinary Quranic studies will be held here in the Iranian capital on March 6-8.

According to Hamid Saber Farzam, the secretary of the conference, it has received nearly 300 papers from Iranian and foreign scholars.

He said 117 papers have been approved by the scientific secretariat 39 of which will be presented at the conference.

Saber Farzam, who also heads the Iranian Academics’ Quranic Activities Organization, affiliated to the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR), was speaking at a press conference in Tehran on Saturday.

He said the process for analysis and evaluation of the papers had three stages involving three groups of scholars.

Saber Farzam noted that the event will include three panels featuring interdisciplinary studies on Quran and health, methodology of interdisciplinary Quranic research, and studies on the Quran’s organizational system.

He said scholars from Pakistan, Australia, Malaysia, Sudan, Canada, Somalia and Indonesia have been invited to take part in the conference.

Elsewhere, Saber Farzam referred to the history of the Quranic activities of the ACECR, saying it has been active in Quranic fields since 1981.

He added that the international conference on interdisciplinary Quranic studies are part of these activities, which have developed in recent years in light of recommendations by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
