TEHRAN (IQNA) – Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Bagheri visited the house of martyred scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh on Sunday morning.

He met with the family of the martyr and presented the first class Order of Nasr medal, which had been granted and signed by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khameni.

The meeting was also attended by the Commander-in-Chief of the Army and the Head of the Political Ideological Organization of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, according to Khamenei.ir.

General Bagheri described the Order of Nasr as being a medal of honor that is presented to scholars and prominent national figures who support the defense front of the Islamic Republic.

“The Leader of the Islamic Revolution agreed to award the highest rank, the first-class Order of Nasr medal, to this eminent martyr,” he added.

Fakhrizadeh, who headed the Iranian Defense Ministry’s Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND), was targeted on November 27 in a multi-pronged attack involving at least one explosion and small fire by a number of assailants in Absard city of Damavand County, Tehran Province.

Iranian government officials and military commanders have hinted that the Israeli regime could have been behind the terror attack, vowing harsh revenge against all the criminals involved.
