Iranian Quranic Convoy Visits Quranic Centers in Iraq’s Kadhimiya
The convoy, which includes a number of top Quran memorizers and reciters, has traveled to Iraq to hold Quranic programs in the Arab country on the second anniversary of martyrdom of Lt. General Qassem Soleimani, who was the commander of the IRGC Quds Force, and Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Deputy Commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
The programs will be organized in six Iraqi governorates.
On Thursday, the Quranic convoy visited the Dar-ol-Quran Centers of Kadhimiya holy shrines at the invitation of the centers.
They learned about their activities and programs and also attended a specialized session on memorization of the Quran.
It was stressed during the visit that cooperation should develop between the centers and Iran’s Quranic community.
Kadhimiya is a northern neighborhood of the city of Baghdad, Iraq. It is home to the holy shrines of Imam Musa Kadhim (AS) and Imam Jawad (AS).
Earlier, Shoja Zawidat, a memorizer of the entire Quran and a member of this convoy, told IQNA that as soon as the convoy landed in Baghdad, they went to the special site the martyrdom of the resistance commanders and paid tribute to them.
Ibrahim Fallah Tabasim Chehreh, Yousef Izadi, Raad Alboghbish, Saeed Parvizi, Seyed Jassem Mousavi, Seyed Foad Shokavi, Vahid Vakili, Seyed Mostafa Hosseini, Hadi Esfidani and Shoja Zavidat are members of this convoy.
According to Zawidat, the group is due to hold 90 Quranic circles in Baghdad, Wasit, Maysan, Dhi Qar, Ninawa, and Diyala governorates till the martyrdom anniversary of General Soleimani on January 3.
General Soleimani, al-Muhandis, and a number of their entourage were killed in a strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport in the early hours of January 3, 2020.
The White House and the Pentagon claimed responsibility for the assassinations, saying the attack was carried out at the direction of then US president Donald Trump.
