He made the remarks on Monday in a ceremony held in Tehran to commemorate 40 years of his diplomatic and media activities in Tehran.

"We have a clear slogan which is establishing a Palestinian government from the river to the sea and we accept nothing less than this," he said.

"Israel is a cancerous tumor and needs to be removed from the sacred land of Palestine."

"I have been in Iran for 42 years and observed the great work of Imam Khomeini and the Iranian nation. This great man exploded a major bomb in the world that was more powerful than all nuclear bombs of the world combined. He united the nation," lauded Zawawi.

The event was organized by the Society for the Defence of Palestinian Nation and the Media Culture Center.

A host of other guests also praised the efforts of Zawawi during the past four decades.
