US Support for Allies An Illusion: Hezbollah Official
Vice President of the Executive Council of Hezbollah Sheikh Ali Damoush on Friday said the US is the one responsible for the crisis in Ukraine.
He added that the lesson one can learn from the recent developments in Ukraine is that the United States’ support for its allies is just an illusion.
The truth is that the Ukrainian president and the former president of Afghanistan trusted the US and relied on its support but both of them have admitted that the US abandoned them, the cleric stated.
He also said Hezbollah condemns war, killing of innocent people, occupation and destruction anywhere in the world but noted that the West, which is condemning what is happening in Ukraine has turned a blind eye to the US and Saudi-led coalition’s crimes in Yemen.
Russian President Vladimir Putin last Thursday announced the launch of an operation to eliminate what he called a serious threat to his country, citing the need to “denazify” Ukraine and accusing its Western-backed leadership of genocide against Russian-speakers in eastern Ukraine.
Since the start of the war, the US and other Western “allies” of Ukraine have failed to support it against Russia.
