Seyed Javad Sadat Fatemi, a veteran Quran activist and qari, told IQNA at the conclusion of the national Quranic event that the performances of the contenders in the category of recitation showed a return to the styles of Egyptian qaris such as Muhammad Rif’at, Shahat Muhammad Anwar and Mustafa Ismail.

He said the contestants showcased a good performance in these styles.

Paying attention to Egyptian styles and their nuances helps the qaris’ recitations move to a higher level in terms of beauty and refinement, he stated.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Sadat Fatemi hailed the good organization of the competition in the northeastern city of Bojnourd, which hosted the event for the first time.
