Ismail Sabir has made the artifact to show his solidarity with the oppressed people of the Gaza Strip, Youm7 website reported.
It is part of the artworks he has made in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan.
To make the wooden map of Palestine, he has used the words and phrases in Verses 155-157 of Surah Al-Baqarah such as “and give good news to the patient”, “in adversity say: ‘We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return’” and “It is they who will receive blessings and mercy from God and who follow the right guidance”.
These verses have been chosen as a message to Palestinians to remember that God is with them and the holy month of Ramadan will bring glad tidings to them.
Sabir, who is an agricultural engineer is from the Menia Governorate but has lived in Asyut Governorate for 20 years and learned the art of Munabbat there.
Every year he designs and makes wooden crescent moons and special lanterns for Ramadan.
One of the wooden lanterns he made last year for Ramadan was six meters long.
