The Midlands Islamic Culture Centre Tullamore (MICCT) started the campaign on GoFundMe due to the community outgrowing their current rented location, which is described as "small," Offaly Live reported on Monday.
According to a statement on the fundraising page, the number of Muslims in Tullamore has now surpassed 500, and the rented property for daily and Friday prayers is "no longer sufficient for the community needs."
The MICCT aims to purchase a permanent location to renovate into a mosque and Islamic centre to facilitate prayers, community services, and Quran classes for Muslim children.

A message on the fundraiser, which has so far raised just over €1,700 of its €250,000 goal, states, "We currently have €200,000 from local donations but require an additional €250,000 to buy and renovate a local property in town."
