IQNA – The experimental broadcast of the Holy Quran Channel from Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates, will begin on Friday, August 16, 2024.

The Sharjah Broadcasting Authority will be commencing the Quran channel under the directives of Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council.

Operating under the slogan "Be with God and God will be with you," this will mark the country's inaugural Holy Quran TV channel.

The introduction of the Holy Quran Channel is part of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority's initiative to expand its media and educational outreach.

The new media platform established by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority is dedicated to the continuous broadcasting of the Holy Quran. It features a daily “Khatmah” recitation by renowned reciters, providing audiences with the convenience of accessing Quranic recitations at any hour of the day. This initiative aims to offer audiences unparalleled access to the divine scripture, showcasing exceptional recitations and voices.

The channel will broadcast Friday prayers, Tarawih prayers, and Qiyam prayers live during Ramadan. It will also feature exclusive Quran recitations and a range of educational programs. These programs are specifically designed to enhance understanding of the Quranic sciences and jurisprudence, delivering simplified yet comprehensive content to a wide audience, making it easier for them to comprehend and absorb religious concepts.

Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of SBA, emphasized the significant support from the Ruler of Sharjah, for the establishment of this channel, underscoring the importance of the project and its alignment with the promotion of the teachings of the Holy Quran. The initiative aims to provide a specialized media platform delivering purposeful and inspiring religious content. With the backing received, the channel seeks to set a benchmark in religious media, not only within the UAE but across the Islamic world, with the goal of making a positive impact on viewers and society at large.

Al Ghaithi commended the national media professionals and the Authority's advanced technical capabilities, which significantly facilitated the launch of this channel. It is expected to excel in broadcasting the most melodious Quran recitations, serving as a daily companion for audiences in the Emirates and the Islamic world. This will deepen their engagement with the Quran, encouraging contemplation and reflection on its meanings.

Khalifa Hassan Khalaf, Director of the Holy Quran Channel and Radio in Sharjah, anticipated that the new media platform would serve as a significant resource in the UAE and the region. The platform was designed to offer specialized religious content, focusing on continuous recitation and Quranic sciences programs. Khalaf highlighted that the channel's team, comprising producers and technicians, consists of postgraduate Quranic studies graduates, hafiz of the Quran, and holders of licenses in the ten readings. This expert team is dedicated to delivering high-quality content that aligns with the viewers' expectations.

Khalifa Hassan Khalaf highlighted the focus of the Holy Quran Channel from Sharjah on showcasing the significance of Quranic institutions in Sharjah. This includes the memorization circles associated with the Sharjah Foundation for the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah, as well as the Celebrity Reciters Program of the Holy Quran Complex in Sharjah. The channel will also feature the three museums of the complex: the Museum of the History of Writing the Holy Quran, the Museum of Rare Newspapers, and the Museum of the Seven and Ten Readings. Additionally, it will highlight the Sharjah Reciters Program, which aims to spotlight the imams of the emirate’s mosques.

The channel will be available on the Nilesat satellite at a frequency of 11013 vertical, symbol rate 27500, and QPSK modulation with a 5/6 error correction rate. It can also be accessed via Etisalat Live on channel 579.
