IQNA – Thousands of illegal Israeli settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, performed provocative Talmudic rituals last night in the Ibrahimi Mosque after it was closed to Palestinian worshippers.

The director of the Ibrahimi Mosque, Moataz Abu Sneineh, told WAFA that thousands of settlers stormed the mosque and held a concert in its courtyards, under heavy military protection. The event included Talmudic dances, while soldiers imposed strict military measures around the mosque and the old city of al-Khalil to secure the settlers' celebrations.

Abu Sneineh noted that the settlers brought in musical instruments and loudspeakers, organizing a concert in blatant violation of the sanctity of the place of worship.

He emphasized that these actions are part of a broader strategy of collaboration between the settlers and the occupation forces, who allowed the settlers to bring in the musical instruments and loudspeakers. This is seen as an attempt to assert complete control over the mosque and its surroundings, at a time when Palestinians are prohibited from bringing in essential supplies for the mosque’s maintenance and restoration.

Abu Sneineh described these actions as a flagrant violation of the sanctity of places of worship and the rights of Muslims. He urged Palestinians to rally in defense of the sanctuary and called on ambassadors, consuls, and human rights organizations worldwide to be informed of the violations and attacks occurring inside and around the mosque.

He further explained that the occupation regime’s goal, through ongoing Judaization efforts—such as broadcasting images of settlers dancing inside and outside the mosque with impunity—is to reach a stage where Palestinian residents are displaced from areas targeted for Israeli control, particularly in al-Khalil’s old city, as part of a systematic plan implemented by the Israeli occupation government.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli authorities reopened the Ibrahimi Mosque to worshippers after keeping it closed until late last night.
