Malaysia Says Expanding Support for Quran Memorizers Through Education Initiatives
Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced enhancements to the National Tahfiz Education Policy (DPTN), which includes improvements to the Sijil Tahfiz Malaysia 2.0, the Sijil Perakuan Hafazan Bertahap (SPHB) certification, and the Hafiz Financing Scheme (SPH).
"The TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) and Tahfiz Exploration Programme have also been strengthened for the balanced development of huffaz, combining religious knowledge with worldly skills," Zahid shared in a Facebook post on Sunday, Bernama reported.
The remarks followed the successful 24K Huffaz Gathering held at Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan, officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The event brought together 24,000 huffaz, including students, teachers, and scholars from 1,500 Quranic tahfiz madrasahs under the Gabungan Persatuan Institusi Tahfiz Al-Quran Kebangsaan (PINTA).
Speaking on the theme "Huffaz Tonggak Modal Insan Negara," Zahid emphasized the gathering's role in showcasing the government's efforts to empower huffaz as future leaders in morality, ethics, and spirituality.

Ahmad Zahid further noted that the government views huffaz as valuable human capital, integral to the nation’s development.
He reiterated the importance of prioritizing Quranic education while fostering the next generation’s growth in professional and societal roles.
The event’s objectives included elevating the status of the Quran, inspiring unity, and empowering the huffaz generation to play a pivotal role in the nation's future.
