Iman Nik-Sho'ar

In an interview with IQNA, Iman Nik-Sho'ar, a Quran qari and memorizer and participant in the 47th National Quran Competitions, discussed his journey and the impact of Quranic activities on his life.

Nik-Sho'ar began his interest in Quranic recitation at the age of seven, crediting his mother for guiding him towards this path. "My mother, who was a Quran teacher, encouraged me greatly, and I also received support from my father," he said.

Nik-Sho'ar has participated in numerous competitions, earning around 150 certificates of appreciation. This year, he won first place in the provincial stage of the 47th National Quran Competitions in the recitation category. He also secured second place in the national Basij competitions and fourth place in the national seminary competitions, and was named the top young Quranic figure two years ago.

Blessings of Quran memorization

Nik-Sho'ar emphasized the profound impact of Quranic activities on his life. "Apart from the blessings of recitation, memorizing the Quran brings immense peace to one's life," he noted.

He explained that those who memorize the Quran tend to have less idle time, as they often use their free moments to review the Quran. "This constant recitation brings a special blessing, peace, and focus to one's life," he added.

He highlighted the material and spiritual benefits of the Quran, stating, "One of the main impacts of the Quran for me is the identity of being a Quran reciter, which has acted as a deterrent against negative behaviors throughout my life."

Nik-Sho'ar offered advice for those new to Quran memorization and recitation. "I recommend that Quran enthusiasts of all ages attend Quran sessions at least once a week. The positive effects will become evident over time," he said.

He stressed the importance of reflecting on Quranic verses, noting that such contemplation has positive impacts on life.

He also suggested that research comparing the behavior of different social groups would likely show that the Quranic community is one of the healthiest. "A child or teenager who grows up in the Quranic community will give parents peace of mind regarding their upbringing," he stated.

For those seeking relief from modern life's anxieties and depression, Nik-Sho'ar recommended connecting with the Quran and related sessions. "Quran sessions are like a miracle. Many times, my friends and I have felt better after attending a Quran session," he shared.
