In a statement on Friday, the office of Grand Ayatollah Seyed Ali Sistani, denounced the terrorist attack as a “heinous crime," noting that such measures aim to “undermine the unity of Muslims.”
"We call on the honorable government of Pakistan to take the necessary measures to protect its citizens from the oppression and crimes of terrorist groups,” he said.
It is imperative to ensure that innocent believers are not repeatedly subjected to violent and barbaric assaults by extremist and merciless factions, he added.
