Iran’s Quran Miralce Society and the Iran Academy of Literary Criticism have been cooperating in organizing the conference.
It serves as an opportunity for researchers and specialists from various fields to connect, paving the way for new scientific and research collaborations in interdisciplinary Quranic studies.
Ulrika Maria Martensson, an Islamic university professor at the University of Oslo, will be among main speakers at the scholarly event.
In her lecture titled “An Interdisciplinary Analysis of Quranic Concepts and Their Institutional Contexts,” Martensson will analyze Quranic concepts from a multidisciplinary perspective and examine the institutional contexts of the Quran in relation to various Islamic sciences, including the philosophy of language, law, history, Quranic interpretation, and more.
This lecture will be based on her recent book, “The Divine Covenant: Science and Concepts of Natural Law in the Quran,” published in 2022.
In her lecture, Martenson will explore the relationship between the Quran and various sciences concerning the governance of an Islamic state with a legal system based on human rights.

She will explain how these concepts have been applied in Islamic societies from the time of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to the subsequent caliphates. Additionally, she will examine the interpretations of early scholars in this field.
